Having the Right Creative Infrastructure Led to a 30% Faster Time-to-Market

Industry: Financial Services/Fintech

Focus: Creative Leadership, Operations, Workflow, Design Systems

Role: Creative Director

Growth was creating more clients, more work, and more complexity. The creative team didn't just need to move faster. We needed a better way to work.

I built the systems behind the creative experience—connecting people, process, tools, and reusable design infrastructure so the team could scale without sacrificing quality.

The Challenge

The business was growing. The way we worked hadn't caught up.

As the fintech expanded, we were supporting 20+ financial brands, each with different requirements, stakeholders, timelines, and priorities.

Work was coming from everywhere. Priorities weren't always clear. Reviews and approvals created bottlenecks. Leadership needed better visibility. And the team was spending too much time recreating work we had already solved.

We needed to make the whole system work better.

Adding more people wouldn't fix the underlying problem. We needed to make the whole system better.

The work spanned three areas:

  1. People

Built and developed the creative team.

  2. Process

Created a clearer way for work to move from request to delivery.

  3. Systems

Built reusable tools and infrastructure that made quality easier to scale.

The Insight

I looked beyond individual projects to understand what was making the work harder than it needed to be.

  • Where was work getting stuck?

  • What were we doing repeatedly?

  • Where did people need clarity instead of another process?

  • And what could we build once instead of solving over and over?

The opportunity wasn't simply to make creative faster. It was to create the conditions for better work to happen consistently.

The Strategy

Create one clear path from idea to delivery

I built a cross-functional workflow in Asana ( a project and process management tool), standardizing intake, prioritization, production, review, approval, and delivery so everyone understood what needed to happen next.

The goal wasn't more process. It was less friction.

Make the work visible

I created better visibility into priorities, capacity, deadlines, and project health so the team and leadership could make decisions earlier instead of reacting when something was already off track.

Stop solving the same problem twice

I built a custom design system in Figma that was capable of supporting multiple brands. Templates, component libraries, design systems, and reusable workflows turned repeat work into infrastructure.

That meant designers could spend less time rebuilding and more time thinking.

Connect the people behind the experience

I used an annotation tool within the design system, daily check-ins, and detailed notes in Asana. This created clearer ways for creative, product, operations, account teams, and leadership to work together in both the workflow system and the design system with annotation.

Better handoffs and clearer expectations reduced the friction that eventually shows up in the experience.

Build for where the business was going

Most importantly, I built it to scale. The system wasn't designed around the team we had that day. It was built to support more clients, more channels, more people, and more complexity without requiring us to reinvent how we worked every time the business grew.

The Impact

The result wasn't just a more efficient creative department.

We created a stronger engine behind the brand—one that made it easier to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences as the company grew.
